Building love in our families & relationships, Inspiring hearts with our abilities, birthing purpose-discovery through Christ Jesus, using motivation to endure through it all

I remember a dream I had many months ago. I was in my home and I walked to the front of my bedroom window looking down the street, as it was a clear and average day outside. All of a sudden the daytime sky changed very quickly to become dim and darkened. Then the wind began to pick up and swirl leaves and brush on the ground. Suddenly a dragon appeared directly face front in my window and said the very thing that the enemy has been known to try to accomplish in the lives of those who hold a steady and dependent hope in the Lord. And that is to steal, kill and destroy the lives and the light inside of us. The idea of this is what he spoke directly to me…..I’m thankful every time I am able to control my very own actions inside of a dream whereas in this moment I saw the dragon’s message for what it was. A LIE… So following the hearing of this lie in my dream, I stood on my bed and spoke the first scripture in my defense that would come to mind;

“No weapon formed against me shall prosper!”

Isaiah 54:17 NKJVNo weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

I stood on my bed facing the dragon and once I spoke the Word, my white pillows stood up at attention with me and began to hold a white glow as if to stand in defense with me against Satan. It may sound silly but my words were my weapon… And this is the battle “weapon” we lack application with for in our everyday lives. The Word… Not just any word. The Word of God. In other words, scripture in the Holy Bible.

Ephesians 6:12 KJV- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

BE READY TO FIGHT IN YOUR DREAMS

Lately, my dreaming has increased tremendously. I dream so often, I’m beginning to feel like I’m always awake and doing something so that the days are running together between my waking life and sleep life. Most of the time, when we dream, our guard may be down. We often don’t choose the location, the situations, or the people around us in a dream. But instead, we find ourselves in predicaments that we see, feel, observe or find ourselves acting upon. And inside of this new dream world, we find ourselves having the opportunity to respond or react to or not react to these new scenarios as they occur. This is where our natural subconscious kicks in. Here’s the kicker though, whatever you’re storing in your mind, absorbing in your thoughts, and allowing to influence you while you’re awake, if positive, this can become a great resource, reminder, and defense in your dreams subconsciously as well.

TIP: Whether attacked/tempted in your dreams or waking life, arm yourself against the enemy and your own destructive thoughts by reading aloud, by playing scriptures in your ears while you sleep, or by filling the room with worship music to change the atmosphere under the authority of Christ Jesus.

THE WORD AS YOUR WEAPON & DEFENSE in REALITY

Some of us have had one thing after the other show up to disrupt our last nerve, leave us discouraged, put us in panic, leave us worried, missing sleep, crying, confused, or become fed up about. And that’s the most we do is panic, become discouraged, worry, miss sleep, cry, stay confused, and stay fed up. The problem is that when our flesh does decides to fight, it fights with exaggerated actions or revenging deeds. And some people will even physically fight and spitefully mistreat another for payback. We sometimes take matters into our own hands when handling the adversary, and we forget that we need to leave room for God to come in and take ownership over our battles.

Now imagine fighting but with a Bible. Not that we go around hitting people with a book. But I mean speaking, applying, and believing the Word of God to be true in faith. And when you do this and the words roll of your tongue, you can then know that it went out not in vain, but with power and life! His kind of weapon is not average but mighty!

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 KJV- For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

SO THEN…WE MUST NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE

We feed our bodies every day with wonderful food and yes it keeps us healthy and alive. Not to mention it also tastes great! Likewise, speaking the Word of God is speaking and depositing life and it is what is necessary to feed our spirit man. When you find yourself attacked and overwhelmed by the devil’s schemes, remember your weapon! And I will leave you with this;

Ephesians 6:13-17 NIV- Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
