A Social Distant Spiritual Life

Building love in our families & relationships, Inspiring hearts with our abilities, birthing purpose-discovery through Christ Jesus, using motivation to endure through it all

Romans 8:38,39 NIV- For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is so… Nothing can separate us from the greatest love of all. That is one area that no one can control- our connection with God. Marveling isn’t it? But often we don’t take ahold of this magnificant truth.

In today’s reality with people, these two words “Social Distancing” we’ve heard all too well over the past two months. The global widespread pandemic called the Coronavirus had put a halt on our everyday destinations. It also diminished the amount of distance we place between ourselves and the next human being in sight. This steady conscious effort for people to carry wipes, sanitizers, masks, and gloves when stepping outside, has made a once leisure slip-away to an event, personal gathering, or errand now becomes a discouraging one. Giving hugs, kisses or shaking hands requires a new approach.

DISTANCE- WITHOUT A CHOICE
We are living in a time where our ability to physically connect with people is temporarily out of our control and is being monitored with possible consequences if we don’t stay within these confines of a distinct distance. With Church, graduations, games, concerts, dinners and the like, the decision to be closer is currently not our own.

STILL- WE FOUND OUR WAYS TO CONNECT
Isn’t it amazing that in the midst of social space and shut-down in the presence of many and even few, we STILL found a way to connect? Now more than ever social media, Fb chats, instant messaging, face time or Video communication is on the rise. Why? Because we need to hear from our friends and family. It’s a must! Especially when their presence is limited. We will extend ourselves, bend over backwards, and find new ways to spend time when we cannot as easily. We want to voice our concerns and make sure we check-in and all is well with everyone. GOD DESIRES THAT SAME CHASING AFTER FOR HIM.

Maby we can look to fill the gap in our “SOCIAL DISTANT” SPIRITUAL LIFE….

We sometimes forget and need to be reminded that there are no limitations for us in connecting with GOD. We now have more time to think, reflect and dwell in our personal homes and personal space. We have a unique opportunity in our “reaching out” efforts, to the one who’s been waiting patiently to connect with us our whole lives…….

THE BENEFITS OF SPIRITUAL CONNECTION WITH GOD-

  1.  He’s Omnipresent- That means He’s everywhere at once without restraints. There is no wait, request and no permission needed. He can always reach us and we can always reach Him. PERIOD.
  2. He’ll Sync Within our Silence- He already knows our heart and hears our thoughts in quiet moments. Therefore, we don’t have to wait or feel the need to have the words to say whenever we’re speechless. He understands beyond our voice and even when we don’t speak, we can connect from within. (Psalm 147:5 NIV, Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.)
  3. He’s Beyond Virtual- God doesn’t need a phone. He doesn’t need a building and most of all He doesn’t require a WIFI connection. Thank goodness! He’ll visit us in our dreams, thoughts, visions and by spirit. We need to think past our visual and audible senses to also feel His Spirit and its closeness at hand.

IN TUNE WITH HIS SPIRIT- WHO’S  NEVER AT A DISTANCE

1 John 4:13, NIV- This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his spirit.
John 4:24, NIV- God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.
Acts 2:17- NIV- In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Thank you Lord that, with You, we NEVER have to feel socially distant!…. TiME TO CONNECT…
