This thought is not meant to be self-centered but rather self-releasing. But how come this declaration is so vulnerable feeling?
If you’re like myself and many introverted deep thinkers with a ton to share, you’ve spent more of your life letting your greatness within, well… just be a source of entertainment for yourself only, instead of transferring it outwardly. Most of your time is spent in your thoughts anyway and most of your thoughts remain in your head. Ha! Sound familiar? For those who can relate, us busy minded folks can become exhausted quickly before we’ve even shared a thing with anybody right?
THE “PUSHING YOURSELF OUT THERE” MOMENT
The words “Welcome to me” is simply the idea of doing away with surppressing the part of you that was meant to shine while being your true self as God has intended for you to be. He makes no mistakes. The likelihood to hide who you are usually stems from the need to protect you, your true passions and your true emotions. There comes a point, however, where life wears a burden on your heart to stop turning away from yourself, the self that God encourages you to be, and stand courageous with that fearful word we like to call “BOLDNESS”. It almost makes you jump when you think of the word because revealing our purpose, personality and voice is scary. But our boldness is in Christ! When we know He will stand before us as a force to be reckoned with, then there is your confidence.
STANDING BOLD IN THE AUTHORITY IN WHICH YOU WERE CREATED
2 Timothy 1:7, NIV- For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
and this….
Psalm 27:1, NIV- The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
and this….
Psalm 56:3-4, NIV- When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
YOU ARE CUSTOM-BUILT
You are fearfully made, wonderfully as the man or woman that God created you to be. God had implanted a customized identity for making it so that you as a young girl or woman, would blossom from a bud into a beautiful and unique wildflower, or you as a young boy or man stand strong with the courageous warrior mindset to conquer what you were designated for. This means you have the right to be posted up as yourself, in your original origin, mantled with your unique character traits, strengths, and abilities He’s instilled in you. This is the way you can truly affect your surroundings.
When your mind is no longer tainted by adverse human influence or intervention but freed by your identity through Christ, you can then say to yourself…… “Welcome to us!” “This!….is me”.
So how do you say “Ready or not, here I am?”
YOU HAVE TO GET FED UP- There is a stressing factor when suppressing the “you” that God already fully knows and settling for a sub-par persona. It will eventually build up and become so unsatisfying to where you’ve had enough. Let it go!
ACCEPT YOURSELF & GET RID OF THE COSTUME
You have to accept yourself with love and not with hate, despair or disgust. Allow and accept yourself flaws and all as a starting point. Nobody’s perfect. Then if there are character flaws or weaknesses to improve on, you can begin to go from facing them to fixing them with God’s help. This must be done apart from other people’s opinions, criticism and/or judgment. Give it a try!
YOU’VE UNMISTAKABLY DECIDED YOU’RE WORTH IT- You are valuable as a human being and in God’s image. We often only see our worth by how useful or important we are to others. Though our ties to others are important, your worth isn’t determined by them. Through the eyes of the Almighty, your great worth has already been established, even when it is yet to be seen or understood by you.
YOU’VE DECIDED YOU HAVE MORE TO LIVE FOR- When you know you’re limiting your soul’s self-expression, it’s time for a change. You now know you have a special distinctive fire inside of you to ignite, and in its truest form, it will naturally rub off as a blessing to others.
So, tell me, are you done hiding??? If the answers yes, then be done and begin to shine in God, as you and with purpose! You’ll be much happier!
Matthew 5:14 NIV- You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
