How Lovely It Is A Man Who Can Cook

Building love in our families & relationships, Inspiring hearts with our abilities, birthing purpose-discovery through Christ Jesus, using motivation to endure through it all

Men have really evolved these days in the kitchen. It used to be women only who could throw down in the kitchen until your heart, soul and belly’s content. This was until men realized they are just as well, intelligent enough to replicate all the goodness! Not only for their health and enjoyment but they use this to show what a well-rounded Mr. Mr. they are and to step into another facet to meaning of serving, then what’s often typical.

Matthew 23:11 NIV   The greatest among you will be your servant.

Now there will always and forever be the men who wholeheartedly believe that full-fledged cooking for them is whack! The word recipe is as fitting to them as a lady who is an auto mechanic repair-woman. Perhaps they failed to see that cooking a meal and setting a plate down before your lady is not only humbling to both parties but it shows the love and consideration put into every bite. And not to mention gentlemen, it’s also very attractive to your lady! Now if the meal you prepare,  tastes good too, well then that’s just impressive.

Better Yet, Let’s Stay In!

If you’re a foodie like I am, skip the materialist jumbo and every now and then, give me a good meal, in house!

I can think of many times my husband has gone out of his way to produce what is often better than restaurant quality. Yes, I’m blessed. You know you’ve got a keeper when you scan the menu and you tell yourself, “Nope, I can’t order that”. “Cause it won’t be better than how it was cooked at home, nnmm-mmpt.”

Men do you know what that does for a woman when you can cook?

Well for starters it’s extremely thoughtful, to have gone out of your way to get creative in the kitchen. And in your own presentation, it displays a level of effort that speaks volumes. The end result is WE FEEL VALUED by your kindness. Now hopefully, the idea ladies is, that you provide a nice hot, home-cooked meal, just the same, and often enough. Men love when their lady is sensible, grounded, beautiful on the inside first and she can cook. It’s a bonus! And who doesn’t like bonuses?

And so, it’s also a bonus in our minds, men, when you’ve taken the time and the pressures of the day off of us with a delicious meal. Know that with any bonus, as long as it’s genuine, you are one step ahead because of the character you display. Did you know? (To single men)

Now, There Are Levels To Good Cooking

Level 1

He can boil eggs and cook toast for breakfast. For dinner, he pulls out the Stouffers, Marie Calendar or hamburger helper. Or perhaps he presents a “ready in 10 minutes” frozen meal in a bag! Hey, we still appreciate it. You gotta start somewhere right?

Level 2

He makes pancakes from the box, with sausage & eggs in a pan for breakfast. For dinner, maybe he seasons some chicken, pork or beef with salt pepper and steams some frozen vegetables. Ok, there’s some progression.

Level 3

But when a man sits some meat in a bowl to marinate and chops up fresh onion, garlic or peppers…. lookout. If he carefully considers his plethora of herbs and seasonings because he understands that they work together to marry in flavor… Whoa….. Then every now and then you see him taste testing his gravies, sauces, and mixing rue because he’s building a base and feeling out the rich savor.

And finally, he might even slice a lemon, lime or integrate some red, white wine, or bourbon to enhance the aroma. He further experiments with fresh seafood, deep-dish casseroles, baking bread or mastering a fine steak. He can hit you with the sweet, spicy or smoky (from the grill) robust! You can see the list can go on. Then you, my lady, have a man who can cook! How lovely it is.

God Bless the hands that prepare all meals!

It’s Own Unique Gesture of Love

Ephesians 5:28-29- “In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church.”

Bottom line is that cooking has its own unique gesture of love for feeding the body. It never makes him less of a man because the kitchen is his playground. You may want to join in on the fun! If anything, it makes him more of a man because he shows a heart to serve his lady, put her first and show her, love in action, displayed through a good meal. How sweet is that! Cooking is also a great way for husbands and wives or couples to bond together. You can learn from each other’s skills while spending good quality time. So the next time he offers to cook, let him and always support his efforts in trying. Cheers to a man who can cook. We seriously applaud you!
